Debussy never composed music for the guitar, although he did have the aspirations. One night he invited a famous guitarist to explore the possibilities of the guitar, but the guitarist never showed up.
In 2018, in the 100th year anniversary of Debussy’s death, TRIO DEBU have created a unique program of Debussy’s well-known, but also more obscure piano works, using their own arrangements.
A fresh translation by enthusiasts.
TRIO DEBU is a young, enthusiastic guitar trio based in Amsterdam. Its members are Eva Aukes, Bas Gaakeer and Ward Reijmerink. They exclusively dedicate themselves to the arranging and performing of the music of Debussy.
See TRIO DEBU as the outcome of an evening that never happened. With this special occasion, they pay homage to the idea of ‘what could have been’.
